The tactics tonight were awful.

Sven is basically seemingly only able to play a defensive game. Which is the reason why we got beaten, because had we gone at France we'd have won pretty easily - Silvestre and Thuram were useless, and teams that are more positive will see this. Look at when Rooney ran at them - they were terrified. If only we'd have been more positive.

We sat back far too much, allowing the French to get a foothold in the second half, and inviting Zidane to weave his magic. I was surprised they didn't score earlier TBH.

Switzerland and Croatia are very poor, and qualification for the second phase is in my opinion still a strong possibility. However, unfortunately Sven has to see the blindingly obvious that firstly 1-0 is rarely going to be enough, and secondly that you need natural left sided players on the left side.

Well ok there will be a few planes landing back at Luton next Tuesday with a few players getting a heros welcome like King and Campbell with the rest being jeared and booed.

Hopefully we can come back with dominating performances against the Swiss and Croatians, with players such as Gerrard and Owen actually doing something.

And if the French had problems with Rooney, then I think the Swiss and Croatians should be quite scared.

Wayne Rooney is FANTASTIC and will only get better, he will tear the Swiss apart. Players like Owen, Gerrard, Beckham and Scholes arent good as people make out to be.
