Plenty to go on here, my favourite being an e/w on Germany to win at 20/1 (1/2 odds first 2), always do fairly well at a tournament and we're World Cup finalists after all.

For top goalscorers, e/w bets (1/4 odds first 4 goalscorers) on Henrik Larsson and Jon Dahl Tomasson at 50/1 look well worth a crack.

France V Germany final is 25/1 ,while an England V Germany final is aptly priced at 66/1!

Hate to admit it but we'll be on first plane home. England not to score at 66/1?

Can't see past France at 3/1, that's where my money will be, although agree about e/w on Germany, as regardless of their form they are a good 'tournament team'.

I've got a "cheeky" bet on Denmark to win it at 33/1.

As i think France are going to win Euro 2004 i have been to see Mr Ladbroke and have put this bet on:

£1 win Accumalator:

France to be tournament Winner @ 3/1
The top goal scorer of the tournament to be Thierry Henry @ 11/2
It to be France vs Italy Final @ 9/1
Top goal scorer and win Euro 2004 Thierry Henry and France @ 10/1
The Winner of euro 2004 to come from group B @ 7/4

Wins you £7,865

Loads of bizarre bets around which look good value.

Firstly the short prices, make a nice accumulator.

Theres 32 games in the tournament, so the following low specials appeal:
Over 325 Corners in the tournament - 6/4
Under 115 Yellow Cards - 6/4

Holland to score 5 or less goals in total: 6/5
Euro 2004 Fastest Red Card, 30 Mins Or Less 5/6

Top Portugese GoalScorer: Pauleta 5/4

And a couple of bigger prices..
Rooney, Top Euro 2004 Scorer 33/1
France to get no points 100/1

What b*llocks. Shocked

Any decent bookie would spot the related contingencies in there a mile off, and not let you have that bet.
I'd be amazed if Laddies didnt spot that. Rolling Eyes

Let me explain the rules of betting for you as you seem to not have read them.

A "related contigency" is where you have a double (or more) and the potential outcome of one part of the bet affects the other part of the bet.

i.e. If you had a double of "France to win the competition" and "the winner to come from Group B". If the first part of this happens, then the second part MUST have happened, giving it a chance value of 100%. The price of the bet would then be calculated as simply the price of France to win the competition - NOT the combined odds.

Or to put it another way. In the Euro 2004 betting we have
France to win 3/1
Henry to be top scorer 11/2

Now, 3/1 * 11/2 would be about 25/1 - but Ladbrokes only offer 10/1- Why? Because the two potential outcomes affect each other. Its likely that if France win it, then Henry will have scored lots of goals, and also that if Henry is top scorer, that France are likely to win it.

So looking at your bet, you've actually only got a double consisting of
"France to win and Henry to be tournament top scorer" with "Italy to be in the final". All the other things are related contingencies with 100% likelihood. So, you'd get the 10/1 for the france/henry thing, multiplied by the chances of italy getting to the final (not including france in the calculation). I'd estimate the price should be around 25/1, mabye 33/1.

Even if you've placed such a bet (must have some real muppet at laddies somewhere), they won't pay it out at the odds you calculated. You'll get about £25 or something like that. (They don't let muppets calculate returns). It doesnt matter that you've placed the bet, the rules still apply.

Trust me, I come across Related Contingencies every day - I work for a major bookies (not Laddies). You're not the first person to try and get something like this on by very long way.

As one more thought, imagine what would happen if these were allowed. You could bet on EVERY TEAM in the tournament, and double each one up with a bet on the winner coming from the appropriate group. You'd then be guarenteed to make a nice profit no matter who won the tournament.

If you have any questions on betting rules, I'll be pleased to answer them. Just don't go down to Ladbrokes in six weeks time and be surprised when you get about £7840 less than you expected.

Might be worth looking at IBAS (the indepenent betting arbitration service) opinion at http://www.ibas-uk.com/CaseStudies_3.htm

Hate to continue the traitor theme, but France at Evens tomorrow looks a cracking bet, I'll be doubling that one up with Spain at 8/11, and drowning my sorrows with the winnings tomorrow night.

Pretty good going so far ..... Very Happy

Won on Sweden Vs Bulgaria, Czechs Vs Latvia {although a bit of a close shave !} and Germany Vs Holland.

Took a bit of a hit Saturday mind you - really DIDN'T see the Greece result coming ! Shocked

Next banker has to be Engerlund Vs The Swiss - DON'T see your lot slipping up against a pretty average Swiss team whose best player's suspended !

I fancy it to be England 1 Switzerland 1, although from a betting point of view it's a game left best alone. My few quid for Thursday has gone on France 2 Croatia 0.

What a great tournament, better than the World Cup in many ways - big games from the off, unlike the WC, when you have Egypt, Saudi etc. Even Latvia looked a decent team.
