Division Three new boys Chester have signed defender Richard Hope from York City.
Hope has penned a two-year deal at The Deva Stadium after catching the eye of boss Mark Wright.
Wright is keen to bolster his squad as they prepare for life back in the league and sees Hope as a key addition to his squad.
York faced a fight to hold onto Hope following their relegation from Division Three and the 25-year-old was delighted to have his future sorted.
"I am delighted with the move to sort out my future and it is great that I am joining an up and coming club like Chester,"

Chris Brass commented: "I spoke with Richard yesterday and he told me he had been offered a better deal and wanted to stay in the league but I think the magical work of agents have got this moving. Richard has done what he thinks is right for himself but we agreed terms and I thought it was a done deal so I'm disappointed.
"He did quite well last season and there's also the fact that we were true to him in offering him a longer contract after his first three-month deal. I've stayed loyal to this football club but the nature of today's players seems to suggest there's not a lot of loyalty in the game any more and you have to accept that and we will draw a line under it now."
"There's plenty of people out there and I found out this could be happening a while back although I only found out officially when Richard rang me yesterday. I will still be looking to get somebody in and am well down the track and have already spoken to other defenders. The majority of players are on holiday though at the moment." |

York defender Richard Hope has completed a move to Football League new-boys Chester on a two-year contract.
The 25-year-old centre-back initially made a verbal agreement to sign for the Minstermen, who were relegated to the Conference for the first time in their history.
But the former Northampton player revealed to York player-boss Chris Brass he wanted to stay in league football.
Brass has already signed former Burnley team-mate Steve Davis, but will need to step up his search for another centre-back when the City manager returns from Portugal.
