at the time u was all interested to know that when i was released by york ( Twisted Evil ) i was on a desperate search for a new club, i ended up getting 2 offers, one from Darlington and one from Hull City. n then york the cheeky blighters tried to re-sign me lol. Anyway i decided to go with Darlington as i now know their future is secure and lets face it, theres more chance of reaching the 1st team of darlington than of hull! i have accepted a contract of around £50 a week and £800 free of adidas stuff Smile as well as a £3,000 train pass to get there and back Very Happy anyway, at the time u all sed to keep u posted as to how it went. Janesy

Good stuff janesy.

Good luck with Darlington. £800's worth of adidas stuff?. Not bad. What kind of expensive luxeries are they giving you then?

Agreed Willow.

True Faith you should be supportive of a fellow forum member in his footballing career, not critical.

Best of luck at Darlo janesy.

Is it a 3-year YT contract with the option to become pro afterwards?

That's a bit low isn't it? Or is that the club contribution not including the chunk from the FFE&VTS (part of the PFA)?

Normally it's 50:50 club/PFA. About £45 from each (£90 total), £55 (£110) 2nd year, £90 (£180) 3rd year.

Will the move to U18 (as opposed to U19) next season affect you?
What about the season after (2005/06) when the 3 year deals are replaced by 2 year ones? I imagine you just carry on.

I would say that first year York City trainees would work out getting less than £50 a week, based on what I've worked out from my stalking tactics. But they may be letting me down, you never know.

Go on janesy, best of luck. Get the words "HERMAN IS TOSSER" written on a white shirt and reveal it when you score the winner against Brazil, please.

BTW you seem to be the only notable person not to have adopted a country. The only ones left are Bulgaria and Switzerland. I know you are very proud of that picture of the girl with the grinning face, but I don't think I'm alone in saying that it's really beginning to piss me off.

What she said. That flag's much too big and the colours are wrong, anyway.
