Can anyone advise me as to why where my Avatar normally appears there is a red cross in a box?
How do I retrieve/restore my picture?
Bear in mind the reason I don't know is because I'm not great with computers, so please keep it simple. |

| Click the Profile link at the top. You can then either choose an avatar from the avatar gallery or select an avatar from an image of your choice (which must be within the maximum size specified). |

| I understand that and went through that procedure initially, but all of a sudden it's stopped shopwing my picture. When I go in profile and submit, it appears once then next time I come to the site there is only a little box with a red cross in it?? |

Perhaps the picture was too large. You could try again with a smaller picture.
