It appears that now Larsson is leaving Celtic after seven years he is in the process of talks with Spanish club Villarreal.
These talks are only in the preliminary stage however.

He'll probably be like Beckham:
Go there looking good and at the end of the season be really cr*p!

I doubt it.
Larrson is a proven goalscorer and although compared to La Liga Scottish football is relatively easy he should bag goals galore.
Also should Beckham stay at Real Madrid I think he would have a more consistent second season.

Beckham hasn't looked crap ar Madrid anyway, he's been one of their better players in a poor season for them. I'd call it coincidence that he went and they didn't win a trophy. Afterall they did employ Man United's assistant manager as their full time one. A bad move, if ever there was one.
Then again, he has been sent off twice this season. |

The former Man Utd assistant (Carlos Quieroz) got fired. I thought Beckham had a mixed season but still. Real Madrid didn'e even win a trophy this year hence the sacking of Quieroz.
Wonder if Larsson can turn Villarreal into a championship challenging club. As far as I know they are only a mid table La Liga outfit.

I think Villareal finished something like 5th or 6th in the league this season and got to the UEFA Cup semi finals so they look like a pretty good team to me.

They may become a stronger team, but with Larsson I was never sure of him, yes he has being a strong player and being of great service to Celtic, but will he be able to perform to such high standards and provide such good service to Villareal who play in a far more competitive league than Celtic, remeber the Scottish premire league is only ever a competition between Celtic and Rangers, will Larsson be able to be as succesful in another league? |

I would have thought so, however I think that he hasn't got much longer left in his career, he is maybe pushing his mid thirties. Perhaps he intends to see out his career in Spain.

I've decided that Larsson shouldn't go to Villarreal but go to Flamengo in Brazil!

Maybe, but if they are they haven't revealed themselves. So far only Real Villarreal have shown their hand.

Hence he won't be signing for an English club. Off to Spain he goes.

Yes, however he is going to Spain or wherever to finish his career, hence he will probably not go to a hugely successful club i.e Villarreal. If he had any offers from the Premier League I would imagine Bolton or someone would be straight in there, due to the fact that they made an offer to Rivlado and also were linked with Edgar Davids.

No, he hasn't said yes or no but the offer to him is still there.

Im sure I heard somewhere that he has decided against joining Bolton and he said that Celtic were a more attractive prospect.

But anyway, I reckon that Larsson could prove himself in Spain but I would have thought it would be at another club. Maybe Barcelona might come in for him seeing as they've released Kluivert and Overmars to cut some costs.

I think Larsson will do quite well if he goes to Villareal and score goals.
However, he won't do as well as he's done at Celtic and I can't see him being on of the more outstanding players in La Liga.
Also, I hope we see those 4 Dutch players released by Barcelona all come to the Prem. I bet Sam Allardyce at Bolton will manage to get at least one of them!

I wish Larsson would be in the premiership because that would make things interesting, howcome he didnt sign a new contract at Celtic anyway maybe he relised how rubbish the SPL is.

well he is a goalscorer who scores 20-30 goals per season, if he joins Bolton as rumoured, well things will be fun

yet another useless post by true faith. any football fan who is remotely interested in the goings on of the football world would realise that henrik larsson has been looking for a move away from celtic for about a year now. he has been with them for agggggggges and feels that along with a change of climate, he wants to play against better players than sean hessay (kilmarnock) (no offence to sean) it would be pretty obvious why he left he needs a new challenge in life.
THINK before you type before u kill us all with ur annoying posts. Come to think of it stop posting so much!

We all know that Henrik Larsson will be found out. He is not a proven goalscorer. You don't become one of those for scoring 30 goals a season in Scotland. I honestly don't believe he'd get 10 in his first season in the Primera Liga.
