York player-manager Chris Brass has confirmed his interest in Darlington midfielder Gary Pearson.
The combative 27-year-old has failed to command a regular first-team place for Quakers, and would be available on a free transfer.
Brass said: "Gary Pearson is someone we are interested in for next season. He is one of the names on our list."
Pearson's career at Darlington has been interrupted by injuries and he made just 19 appearances last season.
He was dismissed when Darlington drew 1-1 with York at Bootham Crescent in September.
