No surprise there.

They say Alan Curbishley is the favourite to replace him now.

Shame about Houllier, he was always a good manager and did bring trophies and success to the club but now both him and Liverpool have to move on.

Hope to see him back in management soon.

Over the past two years things havent looked good at Anfield and i think it was time for him to move on. Anyway bring back Roy Evans he was a great manager Laughing

Roy Evans hasn't managed for years, remember when Houllier first came to the club and they were joint managers?, that didn't work. The idea of getting Roy Evans back is ludicrous.

Like I said Liverpool are after Alan Curbishley, and other possibles include Martin O Niell and Rafael Benitez of Valencia.

Why do people always link Martin Oneil to managers jobs, he aint leaving Celtic and i dont think he wants to leave Celtic either.
Anyway what about Ian Rush, he has a coaching badge and there is also Kenny Dalgish who wants to manage the club again Surprised

It will be interesting to see whether Steven Gerrard carries out his threat.

About 3 weeks ago he said he would leave if Houllier was sacked, I doubt it somehow!

He also wanted Liverpool to sign three or four new players if he was to stay. I think I read that somewhere. Manchester United are interested in him, with Fergie wanting to build the midfield around him.

Steven Gerrard to Manchester United yeah rite, just like the media said that Patrik Viera was off to Manchester United and Michael Owen was off to Arsenal. Never believe anything the papers say.

Yes papers like The Daily Mail and The Mirror are normally correct, however most of what you read in The Sun is a load of rubbish.

The sport in The Sun tends to be good, which is what matters, hence why its articles on Houllier are very accurate.

Anyway i hope Ranieri isnt the next manager to get the boot. This manager is fantastic and a great character compared to Houllier who was always grumpy and miserable.

It seems certain Ranieri will go, with Jose Mourinho to replace him on a four year deal.

Doesnt take much though for The Sun to speculate again.
Anyway Chelsea fans are happy with Ranieri and some of them dont even like Abramovich Surprised There will be a huge outcry if he gets sacked and maybe a few protests which may cause the end to Abramvoichs spell.

he ahs worked wonders on the technical side. He was part of the technical staff at a team in France and he has brough one of those people into this country. He has worked wonders for the club in that respect just the problem is he plays the wrong style for an English Premiership team, far too defence minded. as soon as they get someone in less like that they will be a fantastic team.

It will take a good few years before Liverpool are a top side again, with Arsenal and Chelsea dominating the Premiership. I can never see Liverpool winning it Rolling Eyes
