Aron Wilford who was signed by Chris Brass at the start of last season, has ended his first season in the Football League having been released by Lincoln City boss Keith Alexander.
Scarborough born Wilford arrived at Bootham Crescent having played for his home town club and Whitby Town. He scored 22 goals for non-league Whitby in the 02/03 season.
His starts at City were limited to just six, in which he scored 2 goals. While at York he went out on loan to Harrogate Town and Worksop Town before returning to York. Wilford failed to appear for City again and was then released and taken on by Lincoln City.
While at Lincoln, Wilford failed to make a start, but did make 6 appearances from the bench, scoring 1 goal. As the Imps failed to make the Third Division Play Off Final, boss Alexander was quick to release 9 players, with Wilford being one of them.
