Yes, as it is actually fairly realistic!

Nope, just tells it like it is. The story of a bunch of normal blokes who just happen to get a kick out of physical combat scrapping with other blokes who feel the same!

Its pretty much a fair reflection of how it is, apart from lack of O.B.! Good little film and a few giggles to be had. Some nice sub-plots too which keep the film ticking over nicely.

What is it ? A hoolie film ? Hope its better than that tosh about that under cover plod who infiltrates a London football firm, that might have been Millwall. Best hoolie thing was "The Firm", apart from the silly ending with the gun.........

It's a hoolie film, and basically tells the story of a dis-illusioned young lad, who enjoy's nothing more than getting pissed-up and fighting at the football. It pisses over 'I.D.' and 'The Firm' and is definatly worth going to see. Watch out for the 'gster-a-like' cabbie! Very Happy

Nah, it's based on The Football Factory by John King. You must be thinking of Awaydays by Kevin Sampson, that's the Tranmere one.

"Awaydays" by Mr Sampson, a veritable scribe on the subject of football violence. What about "Guvnors" a historic tome regarding the birth and re-birth of Manchester Citys firm. From its original 70's gang the "Cool cats"right through to the "Mayne line crew" and finally the hardcore "Guvnors". Trouble is there are shelves of hoolie books nowdays, and most are total trash. Just waiting for one from Shrewsbury now, maybe call it "Shrews nose slashers" ??? Wink

There is some s***e out there, Hull's 'never been done' effort springs to mind, but there are some decent ones to be found, one of which being 'Guvnors'. Stoke's 'Naughty' is well worth a read.

Also worth a read is the boys from the mersey.About the Anfield road enders. It's good because in all the other books I have read on the topic Liverpool have always been dismissed as european travellers but this give a fantastic social insight into what it was really like as a skint scouser over the years.

Yeah it could be read that way. But he does give some damn good excuses for it. Well worth the read anyway even if you do feel the need to steal the book from the shop to get it.

Ho Ho Ho, Not a bad reader actually, I got on to level 3 in Primary school and recently finished reding Mein Kampf, Thought it was sh*t. The hardest thing I have ever had to red was a book that the title eludes me of by an historian called Ian Kershaw, I would reccommend it to you. Broaden your mind on the Nazi regime. If it interests you that is.

Noticed that my local pub - The Harwood features in the film. They all pile into it from outside - then it magically turns into a different pub when they get in.

The wonders of film. Smile

Great film though. Anyone heard about 'The Yank' - with Elijah Wood playing an American student who gets involved in hooliganism?

Wouldn't be 'The Nazis - A Warning From History', would it? Made a TV series from his writings, so could be it.
