City travel to Wales in search of their 1st away win since the 2-1 triumph over Rochdale in January. It would be a fitting end to their 72 year stay in the football league, and it is a possibility with both sides having nothing to play for.
Boss Chris Brass is likely to continue with his youthful approach as he looks to build for the future, with this been confirmed by the reserves final outing of the season at Newcastle seeing Leigh Wood as the only non-teenage member of the squad.
There are no new injury worries for Brass, so the line-up is likely to be similar to the Orient game with Porter continuing in goal despite a pretty poor game. Young 'Keeper David Stockdale also impressed in the reserves in midweek so could feature for some of the game, as he did on the last day last season away at Oxford.
On a defensive front, Stuart Wise, Sean Davis and Leigh Wood are contenders to play in the defence with David Merris and Graeme Law on the flanks. Brass should be fit to play in his new role of central midfield, being partnered by Darren Dunning. With the departure of Richard Cooper, Mitch Ward and Leigh Wood playing in defence, it gives younger players like Matthew Coad and Michael McKenzie a chance to show their worth. This has been made a further possibility with them both being left out of the reserve squad in mid-week, as was Bryan Stewart who could play on the left hand side of midfield after a good performance last weekend.
Finally up-front Lee Nogan will remain sidelined with a broken jaw, and after an unimpressive display against the O's at the weekend Adam Arthur is unlikely to start leaving Liam George and possibly the versatile Stewart to form a partnership. Andy Bell or Lev Yalcin are the most likely to partner George however, as the whole squad, barring Dunning and Brass, look to scrap out a contract next season.
Possible line up – Porter; Merris, Law; Wise, Davies; Brass, Dunning, Coad, Stewart; Bell, George.
Swansea will be looking to see out the season in style as the Minstermen visit the Vetch Field, following their sour 0-0 draw at Bootham creascent earlier this season.
Swansea boss Kenny Jackett is expected to have Stuart Jones and Izzy Iriekpen available for the game. The pair sustained slight injuries during the game against Northampton a few weeks ago, and after missing the trip up north to Darlington are hoping to make emends in the final game of the season.
Further good news for Swansea is that James Thomas came through a midweek reserve game unscathed following a thigh injury and should be available. Andy Robinson and Karl Connolly are both doubts however after missing the Darlington game too, and their fitness is unlikely to be risked in such a "nothing" game, with both sides having nothing to play for.
