 |

Yeah you're right it's an old topic, but; "What if"!!
OK,so we don't need the money! That's the boards stock answer,[ or it will ruin the "bowling green" pitch], that's often used.
What harm would it do? After all if we'd have gone to Hun*****,^&%, can't bring myself to say it, near ASDA, we would have shared then.
It seem as though the Knights would be quite happy. |

The only time the Knights should share with City is at a properly-funded purpose built stadium which, whether the current bunch of wankers at the Council like it or not, will have to be funded at some stage within the next 10 years.
Either that or both clubs will be condemned to a very bleak future of underachievement.

They would be most welcome from me, There is not reason why not as far as I can see, We cant play football on the deck so we could play on concrete if we had to, So it woukld be a good thing for the city as a whole if you ask me and then they could knock down that hell-hole of a huntington stadium.

50% of gate reciepts, 50% of the sale of huntington (persimmon), agar as a squad motivator and the knights would be welcome with open arms, otherwise the egg chasers can stay where they are!

As Phil said, the turf at BC wouldnt be able to handle Rugby and Football been played on it. Only time this should happen is if a purpose built stadium is the venue like at Huddersfield.
There are also the financial implications eg advertising money etc.
Its a no go |

Of ourse the turf would be able to handle it, Look at millmoor, pretty sure they manage it. Without looking into it I think its essentially a good idea.

I think it would be a good idea and would make economic sense. I spoke to the groundsman about it after Sundays game, he seemed ok about it but said we would need a new surface (presumably a different type of grass).
Go for it if the opportunity arises.
However I doubt Percy would build on HS it is not the Knights ground to decide, and what are you gonna do with the athletes?

And to be fair maroon and white I dont believe the board have ever used the it will ruin the pitch argument. I dont think there has been an official statement ever about sharing.
So lets not find any opportunity to kick the board and stop these dont let the truth get in the way of a decent swipe at the board posts.

Oh and catkin, have you met Agar? I have and I would prefer him NOT to be anywhere near our football club.
I shall say just 2 words. John Batchelor.
Research people before you welcome them with open arms!

It would benefit the rugby club wouldnt it. So the athletes can run the streets and there is a sandpit on millthorpe.

Pillock!
Maybe Percy should have used that same argument against us!

AD, I think the Agar referred to here is the guy from the Knights, not the ****** we met.

I have met Richard Agar and he's a great bloke - what's the problem Dave?
Between you and him at the moment I know who I'd rather have a pint with!

Wrong Agar Phil as Abel19 says above so apologies.
Dont worry Phil I seem to remember you clinging onto every word I spoke to you when we did have a few hours in the pub together and you admiring me so much for my dedication to the club (I remembered if you didnt because as I have said before the real Phil away from this forum is much nicer than UK Phil, and I think that possibly goes for Dave as oppossed to "AcombDave")

I Propose York City FC allow the Knights to share with YCFC,the rent should be the running costs & 25% of the gate above 1,700 |

Our pitch would never stand up to it. Look at Wigans pitch and Stockport County (sale sharks play there) They are both mudbaths.

the pitch wouldnt be able to handleit it is not the right kind of pitch for rugby
its not strong enough due to the shitty soil
the groundsman said that the pitch would need relaying for rugby cause this pitch couldnt handle it due to the type of turf.

Why would the Knights want to share at BC? Facilities for both fans and players are laughable!!!
As for the pitch, if YC results are anything to go by, it could do with being dug over with garlic and crucifixes, to get at least one decent result! |

Why dont you bugger off back to your own board.
If you knew anything about rugby you would realise the only chance the Knights have of getting super league status is by getting out of HS. The stadium will never be big enough. BC might or might not be an answer, but one things for certain the Knights need BC more than BC needs the Knights.
Quite laughable that you talk about digging the pitch up etc for one decent result, what was it about 2 years ago when York RL hardly won a game at HS?
You are a perfect example why the ex York fans like me dont want to return to watch RL in York, cos you wanna play outside the City, If the Knights played at BC many ex fans would return.
If you wanna continue playing outside the real City of York Perhaps Knightynight you should ask Scarboro if you can share with them, you personally would feel welcome there, they are supported by Dickheads!

Touched a raw nerve there AcombDave!!
I was under the impression this was a general chat forum anyhow? You want to stop living in the past, The Knights are in no way connected to the old York rugby clubs.
Anyway, better playing out of the city than watching conference league football? I think you'll find the number for the McCain Stadium in the Yellow Pages!!, try 01723 ... you'll need it for next years away fixtures. |
