Yeah, anybody seen that bloody advert on telly ? The one produced by the Welsh tourist board ?? Basically the story line follows a modern young English couple on a walking holiday in Wales. They go into a local village shop to purchase a few odds and ends, then walk right up to the top of this massive mountain. When they eventually reach the peak a young kid joins them after having run all the way up this mountain and says "Ive brought your change, you left it in the shop" and then the kid scuttles back down the mountain......NO CHANCE! I went into Wales once, to catch a ferry to Ireland. We got verbally abused in the local pubs, we were last to be served in the local shops, and to cap it all the car got badly broken in to, and we lost close to a grands worth of fishing gear.By the time we got the car sorted and dealt with the Welsh police, we had missed the ferry. Got no sympathy from the Taffy in the ferry booking office, who made us wait for over Six hours to get a spare slot on another crossing....... So as far as local Welsh kids running up mountains to give you a couple of pence change - I THINK NOT!....... Wales for a holiday? Stick it up your bum........

I've been to Wales once or twice and have to agree the people are a little weird. they're very quiet and reserved, although things were never as bad as you've had it.
Nice place, weird people. |

In the ad do they speak in perfect English in the shop, until they realise the couple were English, then speak in Welsh |

Well thats the Welsh for you.....suppose we could let them off a bit as all the trouble we had was in and around Holyhead, a run down port town.......NEVER! Had problems with them once in Zante, where a family thought it clever and fun to sing anti-British songs on the beach all day. The mainly British crowd turned on the podgy taffs who eventually slunk away thankfully. The fat pinky fleshed daughter of the Welsh gang was arguably the most obnoxious creature Ive ever seen in a bikini, and the fact she sang all the anti Brit songs so loud was no doubt because no self respecting Englishman would try and cop of with her. Even after a skinfull.........If I were the Welsh tourist board I would re-think my strategy on making outrageous claims about how ace Wales is, and how honest the people are. They may find the trading standards people might have something to say......

Dont think the city fans who went to Caernarfon in the FA Cup would rush back for a holiday.

Imagine how embarrassed they'll be when they realise Wales is in Britain.

Like many Americans who will never accept the state of Missouri into the union. Carp will never accept that the horrible Welsh will be a part of Britain no matter what others say........... Or the Scots, while we are at it
