Following a recent successful cycle ride across the Yorkshire Wolds to Hull in February (raising almost £1,000* for the Trust), a group of York City supporters are going to embark on a fundraising 45-mile cycle ride on the flatter route through the Vale of York to Doncaster in April.

* estimated! some people still have not paid up!

For more details see http://yorkcityfc.com/fans/donccycle.php

Please contact me as soon as possible if you want to go but are not yet on the list.

A 'practice' cycle ride is being organised for Saturday 10 April (the day after we play at Cambridge) at approx 1pm for the short ride to Riccall, so if anyone has not cycled much and wants a bit of practice, or if you're thinking of going but are undecided then this is a good opportunity to check out part of the route.

I'd be up for it if someone could lend me a bike Smile

I might actually be able to borrow 2 mountain bikes. I'll find out and let you know. Anyone else need one? No promises but I'll ask!

Would those who are interested be able to meet up in the social club before an upcoming home game? e.g. Bury on 13 April?

Sorry Laurence, I probably wouldn't be able to make it as it's a Tuesday night game so I can't get back home afterwards Sad

I'd better start cycling to work as practice as well - haven't ridden a bike more than a few miles for years.

I would have the same problem - not able to get back home...
I won't have the internet for a non-descript period of time as of tomorrow or Friday, but I'll make an effort to stay in touch somehow (even if it means, gasp, an internet cafe...)

we can have a meeting before the Bury game for those who can make that, and before the Cheltenham game for any who can't (although that is leaving it a bit late).

But who is up for the practice cycle ride on 10 April?

What about when we get to Doncaster? Where will we put the bikes whilst we watch the match? Question

BTW I might be able to make a meeting before Bury as long as I don't stay for the game.
