York City player manager Chris Brass has signed Huddersfield Town striker Jon Newby on a one month loan deal.
Brass admitted he was a fan of the player and believes the signing of Newby will help lift the club.
He said: "He is somebody I was interested in at the start of the season. He knows all about this division and he's got that bit of class as well.
"It's a fresh challenge for him and I'm sure he'll be keen to do well here."
Newby, a former Liverpool trainee, will go straight into the side for Saturdays away fixture at Bristol Rovers.
