Forward March!

Goal shy York City could still be buoyed by the arrival of another new forward despite the recent arrival of duo Andy Bell and Richard Offiong. City boss Chris Brass has declared his interested in adding to his front line before the end of the transfer deadline, in a week’s time.

Summer signing Liam George, of whom much was expected, is still out with shin splints and fellow summer buy Aron Wilford is currently in negotiations to find an amicable pay off to terminate of his contract. Added to this are the recent transfers of Lee bullock and Jon Parkin to Cardiff and Macclesfield respectively, which means that only Lee Nogan and Lev Yalcin are the only fit existing forwards at the club. The City player-boss said: "I'm still looking to bring in a new striker before next week's deadline.

"We are dotting the `i's and crossing the `t's with Aron Wilford. He's been on loan at Harrogate but I don't know if he will be going there because I've been told a number of other clubs are interested. We have had to move people on in order to bring other people in."

Brass also hailed Lee Bullock’s goal scoring debut for the South Wales club and hinted a permanent move was increasingly likely. "I heard Lee did extremely well. I know he will score goals and I'm pleased he's impressed on his debut.
"He's certainly got a fighting chance of the deal being made permanent. What his performance could mean though is that other clubs become interested.

"I've always said I would not stand in his way and the same applies if any other clubs come in for anybody before the deadline but I know which players I want to keep for next season."

Cardiff are said to be keen on a deal in the summer with an initial fee of £75,000 rising to £150,000, said to have been agreed in principle.
