tim from cherry red records here. i'm in the process of putting together a real ringtone for each league club and was wanting to know what a york fan would want as the ringtone on a mobile phone. is there a particular song associated with the club or a current popular chant? what do york come out to at the moment?

Ah, the marvellous Cherry Red Records. Perhaps you could help me complete my Felt vinyl collection and then I'll help you. Wink

Seriously though, what are such a venerable outfit as yourself doing soiling yourself in the murky world of footie ringtones? Suppose we all need to pay the mortgage somehow... Rolling Eyes

To answer your question: like many a club, the song we run out to has been a victim of, ahem, modernisation and at the moment I can't even remember what it is (is it Republica or something? God knows).

Anyway, my guess for the most popular current YCFC related tune is the classic 'Can't Take My Eyes Off You' - in particular the chorus, which we sing as I love you Ciiiiity and if it's quite alright I need you Ciiiiity..... Cool

Cherry Red Records?

Don't they sponsor the Hellenic League?

I think they do you know!

Many city fans believe that the team should run out to the tune of 'getting better' by Shed 7. However, The on pitch performance of late really doesn't warrant it.

Well 'red army' is always a popular chant heard at BC.

Sure that would make a super ringtone Confused Wink

''Shoot the scarborough scum'' is a good chant but a few heads would turn if u had that ring-tone blasting out of your phone in a crowded public place. Rolling Eyes

Don't we usually go out to some high-octane rocky/pop crap of Asda/George advert fame?

Best chant ever by City fans is still the Imre Varadi one....

Ooooohhh here he comes,
watch out girls he'll beat you up,
Ooohhh here he comes,
He's a wife beater!

Will never forget what seemed like hundreds of City fans hanging off the fence giving him a big send off as he trudged back to the changing rooms!
