- July 17th is Chris Porter’s birthday. A definite date to remember.
- Chris was born in Sunderland on the 17/07/79.
- He signed for the club on the 29th July 2003 after a spell at Darlington.
- His former clubs have been Sunderland, Darlington (2 spells), Hartlepool and Southend.
The members of our Porter fan club also believe that although Mark Ovendale is one of the best goalkeepers in the division if not the football league that porter should at some stage be given a first team game, preferably in the last match of the season if it is not important in deciding the play off places.

At the moment that is everyone who gives their support for Chris Porter, in our opinion the worlds greatest keeper. We get to the ground early just so we can cheer him as he does his pre match work out. We all have York City versus Carlisle United programmes signed by the great Chris Porter.
From the next home game we will be noticeable as we are currently constructing a banner dedicated to Chris Porter. At each game we attend this banner will be there to show our support for Chris.
