| Biography
|
Described as the George Best of modern football James Colin MacQuarrie started life as a quiet young man with an amazing gift for football. Unfortunately he discovered alcohol and from that point onwards the well mannered, polite and tidy young man turned into a loud, beer-bellied slob!
The parallels between the Irish great and our Jimmy are staggering! Only James’ own fall from grace happened at an alarming rate.
In west Stillingfleet born and raised, on the playground is where he spent most of his days. Chilling out, maxing, relaxing all cool and all shooting some footy outside of the school. When a couple of guys said ‘hey try this beer it’s good’, he started making trouble in his neighborhood. Got into lot’s of fights and his mom got scared and said you’re moving with your aunty and uncle in Escrick.
Unfortunately the move didn’t do Colly any good and his once promising football career ended up at the bottom of a beer bottle. After one particular incident of drunken rage, where he “bottled” someone in a minibus, he appeared in court. In front of a jury of his peers he was found guilty of this
hanus-crime and was ordered to do 90 minutes of community service every Saturday morning.
Now a recovering alcoholic he has been taken under the Red & Blue wing in order to straighten him out. Maybe he will never reach his footballing potential, god knows he can’t shoot for shit anymore, but maybe he’ll reach the dizzy heights once again - he certainly feels dizzy in the pub post-match so there’s a start!
