David Stockdale has risen up through York City's youth system, and made his debut for the club in 2003 when coming on as a substitute against Oxford United.
Stockdale was ever-present in York City's 2005/2005 Conference campaign, and went from strength to strength, making the number 1 jersey his for a lot of the season. However, boss Billy McEwan deemed Stockdale to be
surplus to requirements at the start of this season, and Stockdale was loaned out to Unibond League side Wakefield & Emley at the start of the 2005/2006 Conference campaign.
