22-year old Bishop began his football career by signing professional with Walsall in 2002. However, he never once made an appearance for their first team, and was instead loaned out to the lower divisions. In spells out at Kidderminster, Rochdale and Yeovil he managed to score a total of 10 goals.
Walsall manager Paul Merson allowed Andy to leave the club in the summer of 2004, after saying he still wasn't guaranteed much first-team action. York were then straight on the scene to sign the forward, and he soon agreed a 2-year deal with City. Bishop was the clubs top scorer last season with 12 goals, and also featured for
the England National XI. Bishop features highly in McEwan's plans, and should play a big part in the upcoming 2005/2006 campaign.
