A miserable
1965-66 sees City finish bottom of the Third Division
and relegated straight back to Division Four, conceding
a club record 106 goals. |
|
| |
|
|
| 1969 |
City seek

|
| |
|
|
| 1981 |

season proves to be a big disappointment for City as
they finish bottom of the Fourth Division in 24th place
and are forced to seek re-election for the seventh time
in their history. |
 |
| |
|
| 1982 |
Another poor
season in 1981-82, as City fail to win in 12 home games
- a club record, and lose to non-league Altrincham in
the FA Cup on January 2nd. The high point of the
campaign - the success of new signing Keith Walwyn who
becomes the first City player to top 20 goals in a
season since the 70s. |
| |
|
|
| 1983 |

The 1984-85
season, famous for City's FA Cup exploits, including a

successive season of Fourth Division mediocrity in
1989-90 as they follow on from 1988-89's 11th placed
finish by finishing in 13th place. |
 |
| |
|
|
| 1991 |
A very
disappointing 1990-91 season for City, overshadowed by
the tragic death of David Longhurst who collapsed and
died during a home match against Lincoln on September
8th 1990. The team finish 21st in Division Four and struggle
to score goals. Douglas Craig takes over as chairman . |
 |
| |
|
| 1992 |
Another
season of disappointment for City as they finish 19th in
Division Four and fourth from bottom for the second
successive season. Goals are again hard to come by and
City are to win just 8 games that season - a club record
low. The crowd of 957 that saw City's preliminary match
with Carlisle in the Autoglass Trophy was also a new
low. |
 |
| |

|
| 1999 |
A 1998-99

into the final week of the season. The season also sees
Alan Little sacked as manager in early March. |
| |
|
|
| 2000 |
City start off terribly in Division Three
and Neil Thompson is sacked after an unconvincing year
in charge. New boss Terry Dolan guides the team to
safety, but a finish of 20th is still very
disappointing. |
 |
| |
|
|
| 2001 |
The 2000-01 season yields
another unsuccessful league campaign in which City
finish 17th in Division Three, but a small FA Cup run
lifts spirits until defeat at the hands of Premiership
side Leicester. |
 |
| |
|
|
| 2002 |
A fairly indifferent 2001-02
season in Division Three is again punctuated by an FA
Cup run, this time ended by Fulham, and encouraging
end-of-season form lifts City to a respectable 14th. |
 |
| |
|
| 2003 |
In March the Supporters'
Trust brought the club out of administration with a
rescue package, but in Division Three a serious assault
on the playoffs was ended only on the last day of the
season, and City ended up in 10th place. |
 |
| |
|
|
| 2004 |
A year of mixed emotions as
the battle to save Bootham Crescent was won, however
City were relegated to the Conference after failing to
win any of their last 20 games. |
 |
| |
|
|
| 2005 |
City start 2005 by losing
(again!) to Scarborough and it doesn't get any better as
City failed to perform. Viv Busby made way for Billy
McEwan and the team was rebuilt in the Summer. |
