Home Kit 2002-2003: |

|
In July 2002, City launched their new
home kit, reverting back to the famous 1970s
"Y" Front look and reverting back to all
red .
The kit is reminiscent of that worn by City in the
period between 1974 and 1978 and the fans took an
instant liking to the new kit with the sales figures
proving to be substantially higher than those of it's
predecessor.
However the kit is now out of favour amongst the City
faithful as it provides a painful reminder of the Jon
Batchelor era.

In July 2002, after the re-branding of the club, the kit then
had the new YCSC logo, but was otherwise unchanged.

|
In 2001 York City got a new sponsor, the
Yorkshire Evening Press, and the kit was made by York
Leisure.
The kit did not last long due to Jon Batchelor's
wasteful re-branding exercise in 2002.

Home Kit 1999-2001: |

|
On Thursday 13th May 1999, City launched their
new home kit, reverting to a more traditional look by reverting
back to navy blue shorts and abolishing the previous look of all
red with two horizontal navy white-edged stripes.
|
|
| Previous York City Away Kit 1998-2000: |

|
City's bottle green, white sleeved away kit was launched in May 1998 prior to the 1998-99 season. The shorts and socks are in matching green with white trims and the original idea for a green kit came from the idea that then manager, Alan Little's favourite colour was green.
The kit replaced the previously popular 'Inter Milan-style' blue and black horizontally striped kit.
